Anthropic expands Claude AI capabilities with new creative connectors for Adobe, Blender and more

Anthropic is back with one more new feature for its Claude AI model. The company has rolled out a set of connectors which will allow Claude to tap into popular creative software, including Adobe’s Creative Cloud apps, Affinity, Blender, Ableton, Autodesk, and more. This feature arrives weeks after the company launched Claude Design, which lets users create visual content simply by describing what they want in plain text.
These new sets of connectors will enable Claude to access apps, retrieve data, and take actions within connected services. Anthropic says these connectors will help with the “parts of the creative process” by handling repetitive tasks and eliminating manual toil.
For example, the Adobe connector for creativity can pull from Creative Cloud apps like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Express to help create images, videos, and designs within Claude.
The Ableton connector lets Claude answer questions using information from the software’s official documentation, while the Blender integration allows users to interact with the 3D modeling app’s Python API using natural language.
“Claude can’t replace taste or imagination, but it can open up new ways of working—faster and more ambitious ideation, a more expansive skillset, and the ability for creatives to take on larger-scale projects,” Anthropic wrote in a blog post.
How this is different from Claude Design
Claude Design is a new AI-powered tool that can generate prototypes, presentations, and marketing visuals from simple text prompts. Instead of opening a design app and building layouts element by element, users can type a prompt and Claude generates a first draft within seconds.
The difference is that using Claude for creative work refers to its overall capabilities as a broad creative assistant—it can help you learn tools, write code, connect different software, generate ideas, and handle repetitive tasks across various creative fields. In contrast, Claude Design is a specific product focused mainly on design, where you can quickly visualize ideas, iterate on them, and export them to tools like Canva.
In simple terms, Claude is the all-in-one creative helper, while Claude Design is a specialised space built specifically for designing and refining visual concepts. Claude Design is currently available in research preview for Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers at no additional cost.
