Moong Dal Pakodi


–              Moong Dal – 1 cup, Onion – 1/4 cup, finely chopped, Green Chillies – 4, finely chopped, Baking Powder – a pinch, Salt as per taste, Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp, Coriander Leaves – few, Oil as required for frying


–              Soak the dal for 2 hours.

–              Drain well.

–              Add salt and grind to a coarse paste.

–              Add green chillies, onion, coriander leaves, baking powder and cumin seeds.

–              Heat oil in a deep frying pan.

–              Make small balls of the dough and fry them in hot oil until golden brown.

–              Remove and drain excess oil.

–              Serve hot with sauce or mint chutney.

To make Moong Dal Pakodi Chaat


–              Curd – 1 cup, whisked,  Sev – 1 cup,          Green Chutney for Chaat, Sweet Chutney, Coriander Leaves – few, chopped


–              Transfer the prepared pakodis to a plate.

–              Add 2 to 3 tblsp of the whisked curd on top.

–              Sprinkle sev. Garnish with green chutney, sweet chutney and coriander leaves.
