Critical Acclaim

Critics have praised the film for its unflinching gaze and emotional depth:
“The film, much like the novel, pushes back against the simplified narratives often presented in mainstream discourse… it reframes the story through human experience.” — Outlook India
“Several films about Kashmir lean heavily on geopolitics. Line of Control stays intimate. Families searching for sons matter more here than diplomatic history. Villages hollowed out by disappearances matter more than speeches about sovereignty. That focus gives the story unusual force.” — Kashmir Observer
A Human Story of Conflict
Set against the backdrop of the 1993 Kashmir insurgency, Line of Control follows the story of a teenage boy whose life is shattered when his friends disappear amid escalating violence. Forced into a grim role by a local army officer—collecting identification cards from the dead in the valley—he must navigate the brutal reality of war while clinging to the hope of finding his missing friends.
“We sought to move beyond the traditional war narrative and focus on the quiet, devastating impact of conflict on families and identity,” said Director Travis Hodgkins. “The film honors the visual poetry of Waheed’s prose to tell a story of friendship and survival that is tragically universal.”
Upcoming Soundtrack Release
In response to overwhelming demand for the film’s evocative musical landscape composed by Wayne Sharpe, the official original motion picture soundtrack will be released on May 1, 2026. The score, which weaves traditional regional influences with modern tension, will be available on all major streaming platforms including Spotify and iTunes.
